Tallship Artemis carries with her the soul of the sea — and it all began right here, in Larvik.

Built in Norway in 1926, Artemis was once part of the proud maritime legacy that shaped this coastal town. Larvik, known for its deep ties to the sea and its bold seafarers, was a launching point for ships heading into the unknown — to icy oceans, distant horizons, and great adventures.

Now, nearly a century later, Artemis has returned to her birthplace — not as a working vessel, but as a majestic three-masted barque — this time, with you on board.

As we hoist the sails and leave Larvik’s harbor behind, you’ll become part of a living story. The wind in the rigging, the creak of the wood, and the endless sea ahead — it all connects past and present in a way only a ship like Artemis can.

On Sunday 26 July at 4:00 p.m., our owner Jan Bruinsma will give a special presentation about the fascinating history of the ship – a story that spans an entire century of sailing adventures.

To make this voyage even more festive, we’ll also be serving a special edition craft beer, brewed especially to celebrate the ship’s 100th anniversary! Cheers to a century at sea!

Possible ports to visit during this trip are: Göteborg, Aslborg and Copenhagen.

-Do not forget your passport or identity card
- All expenses on board can be setteld at the end of the trip. Unfortunately, card payment is not possible. All expenses must be paid in cash.

Luggage list

1. It is advised to travel with a travel bag instead of a hard suitcase, since it is better to stow.
2. A passport, if you need it for the planned trip. Otherwise an identity card is sufficient. (Inform yourself in advance)
3. Oilskins are not necessary, but a good rainproof jacket, rain trousers and sturdy shoes are always good. Be it for hiking, cycling or helping on deck.
4. Don't forget warm clothing. You never know how long you are outside for. Breathtaking moment seem to last for-ever;)
5. A good book for a bit of solitude or a good parlour game to play together with your fellow sailors.
6. A camera! So that you can capture your memories and share them with those at home.
7. Cash, because here you can only pay your drinks bill in cash. But also think about the currency of the country you are travelling to so you can buy a souvenir.

Good to know: Would you like to travel alone and not share a cabin? Then you can book a single supplement, which corresponds to the normal cruise price + 50%.
